STL Summer Writing Institute
The institute offers participants a rich opportunity to grow as a writer and as a teacher of writing. We are confident that participation in the institute will become a pivotal experience in one’s professional life. GWP not only encourages teachers to take leadership roles in their own school settings, but once they graduate the Writing Institute as GWP Teacher Consultants, they have opportunities to conduct workshops and school in-service programs sponsored by GWP.
Missouri Writing Project Summer Institute
Kickoff: June 8-9, 2023 on the MU Campus and the remainder of the institute will be online.
The MWP Summer Institute is an intensive learning experience where teachers of all content areas hone both their writing practice and pedagogy. Working from the belief that teachers of writing must also write themselves, participants will practice daily writing as well as investigate and share innovative ways to teach with writing. This immersive process builds a community of writers and leads to the natural transfer of instructional practice.
